CELIBIDACHE TECHNIQUE: Personal
Workshop with Concert This is a personal workshop for ONE participant, in the conducting techniques of the great Romanian conductor Sergiu Celibidache. The workshop takes place in Bucarest, Romania, and is taught by Maestro Florin Totan, who was student of Celibidache for eight years and who teaches his technique in USA and Europe. The orchestra is Sinfonia Bucarest. The emphasis in this workshop is on technique and on learning to rehearse effectively. Concerto accompaniment may be included, and is encouraged. The workshop includes two days of tuition, three rehearsals (total of 12 hours) and concert: Day 1: arrival Day 2: study with Maestro Totan Day 3: study with Maestro Totan Day 4: rehearsal with Sinfonia Bucarest, supervised by Maestro Totan Day 5: rehearsal with Sinfonia Bucarest, supervised by Maestro Totan Day 6: Dress rehearsal and concert with Sinfonia Bucarest For this workshop, Sinfonia Bucarest is available in three configurations (your choice): (1) Strings only, 44221. Concert takes place in a downtown Bucarest church on a Sunday morning (always well attended). (2) Mozart orchestra, 2222 2200 T 54321. Concert takes place in a leading Bucarest hall (3) Beethoven orchestra, 2222 2200 T 64432. Concert takes place in a leading Bucarest hall FEES: Fee for Option (1): $2100 Fee for Option (2): $2950 Fee for Option (3): $3150 There is an additional charge of $100 to cover transport while in Bucarest (private car). Optional tourism is available in conjunction with the workshop for $25. TRAVEL and ACCOMMODATION are extra. We recommend the Hotel Agnes, a new three-star hotel: a single room including breakfast costs 58 Euros per night. As the workshop is for only one participant, dates are negotiable and very flexible.
