Conducting participants will conduct a section of each opera in final performance. Conducting assigments will be decided by faculty during the workshop.

All sessions will be videotaped with professional quality sound and video. There is an additional charge for copies of these and performance videos.

All participants also will have Vocal Technique sessions or Opera Conducting Technique Sessions with piano.

Participants are required to study the entire opera(s) in preparation for this workshop and to arrive fully-prepared. Performances as outlined will not be guaranteed if you are not prepared.

"Cover" Program

As a "cover" you  will receive individual and ensemble coaching for your role and will have the opportunity to sing up to three arias from that role (or arias of your  choosing) with orchestra. (please bring scores!) Covers will also have the opportunity to sing in recital.

Please note - there may be more than one cover  (especially for popular soprano roles). In the event of a late cancellation or illness you may be offered the opportunity to sing your role in the fully-staged performance. If  there is more than one cover for your  role you may be required to audition on-site. It is, therefore, very important to arrive with the role fully-prepared.

Under no circumstances will you be offered the fully-staged performance and then switched to the cover program on-site. If you are offered a the role as cover you will be told in advance and will pay only the fee for the cover program.

Fees for "Covers:" $1550 US - see "Applications" below  for details.

Singers may cover a role and also sing in the fully-staged production. If you are accepted a both your fee will be negotiated.
